At present, the department is headed by Prof. D. H. Thakker the enthusiastic and dynamic personality having an experience of about twenty years in the field of teaching. The department also has two Assistant professors with rich industrial experience. Rest of the teaching staff consists of eight young and dynamic  lecturer's having three to five years of experience.

Electrical engineering curriculum covers the following practical industry oriented subjects.

Electrical Machines

Power system Engineering

Control system Engineering

Electrical measurements and measuring Instruments.

Industrial Instrumentation

Integrated Electronics.

Power electronics.

Industrial drives

Micron processors, Micron controllers and their supporting chips

high Voltage Engg.

Design of Electrical machines and power system

Project work-study and fabrication at various industries.

The department is fully developed with well equipped laboratories in order to enhance the theoretical knowledge of electrical students. they are

Electrical machine lab

Micro processor and computer labs

Industrial instrumentation lab.

Switchgear and protection lab.

Control theory lab.

Also, electrical students can have easy access to latest computers for their part of curriculum and project work.

Occasionally, eminent persons from industries such as AEC, are invited for sharing their practical experience with students in the form of expert lectures. Also the students are sent to visit industries, power house, substations, etc, for visualization of their theoretical knowledge.

As a part of their curriculum and for the award of degree students have to do the project work which may be a study project or Hardware based fabrication project.
